The machine has 8GB ram and an AMD Phenom II 965 Quad Core processor at 3.4Ghz. I also had these issues on a different DAW, so that tells me that Mixcraft isn't the problem, but something between the sound card driver and windows 7 was not happy. On Windows 7 64 bit (same machine) I was unable to resolve the issue at all. I switched playback to the m-audio card and the problem was gone. I had the same issue as I explained, when using that certain plugin, and I also had the issue when using my m-audio delta1010LT for input while using the onboard realtek HD card for playback. It's not your computer specs but more just the sound card and it's driver.
